Students should not be taught that sugar is an 'energy food.' Lon's health studies convinced him that common table sugar actually does much more harm than good in the body. Sugar consumption can contribute to several very serious health conditions, including mental/emotional instability, weight gain, diabetes, and/or hypoglycemia - these are all huge health-care issues in America - for millions of adults, teenagers, and even younger children.

Students should not be taught that drinking cow's milk and consuming other foods containing milk or cheese are essential foods for building strong bones and a healthy body. The truth about this very important issue is that consumption of cow's milk and foods containing milk or cheese causes more human misery for more people than consuming any other food group (common wide-spread problems include: sinus congestion, nasal drip (nose or throat), and recurring constipation problems - or even loose bowels for some people). Lon had been taught that one will get all the vitamins and minerals needed for good health by eating a "balance diet." The truth is that most people will not likely get all of the important nutrients they need to be healthy by eating a 'balanced diet' from common foods purchased in a grocery store and then cooked excessively - as commonly done in America. He was taught that taking a vitamin/mineral supplement daily just causes expensive urine. Is that right? Wrong! Wrong! Wrong!

Lon's health-care studies convinced him that the widely accepted notion that people do not need to take a vitamin or mineral supplement daily was bad health-care advice. When Lon evaluated that issue, he learned that most of the commercial food-growing farms in America had soil conditions that had been severely depleted of numerous vital minerals (since the 1920-1930 era and before), consequently, some of the essential minerals that we need to consume cannot usually be found in the foods that we buy in the grocery store. If essential minerals are not in the soil where plants grow, they cannot be in the foods grown in this depleted soil, and they will not be in the livestock (cows, sheep, etc.) that eat grass grown on these depleted soils. Therefore, it makes a lot of sense to take supplementary nutrition to ensure that one is getting the essential minerals that are known to be necessary for long-term health (body and mind functions).

Lon's research found that it did not really cost a lot to have 'expensive urine' and doing so could easily ensure that he and Janie (wife) were getting plenty of important vitamins and minerals into their diet each day. He quickly realized that this was a relatively low cost addition to their "health insurance" plan. Consequently, Lon and Janie started taking a quality multi-vitamin/multi-mineral formulation daily in the 1970's era - when health food stores were not commonly available except in some of the larger cities.
